Regional Advocacy Meeting
Friday, May 3, 2019 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Monterey County Office of Education
901 Blanco Circle, Salinas, CA 93901
Open to all community members impacted by mental illness. Individuals and families will learn how to advocate effectively, discuss local advocacy plans for Monterey County and engage in a dialogue with local representatives.
Regional Advocacy Meetings are designed to engage family members, program leaders, and the general public in local planning and problem solving with county board members, city officials, and Affiliates. The meetings provide advanced opportunities for individuals to participate in processes impacting programs and service delivery.
In focusing on local advocacy issues, we want to devote time to understanding Stepping Up: A National Initiative to Reduce the Number of People living with Mental Illnesses in Jails. We hope to have a discussion to see how we can move things forward in Monterey County and support individuals with access to care.
This event is free, and lunch will be provided. Register online today!
